Since our last Birthday Bash
(which was held on October 8, 2011) we’ve had those who attended ask, “Are you going to have another Birthday Bash?” Those who
couldn’t make it and heard about how much fun everyone who attended
had we get the comments, “If you have another Birthday Bash, I’m
definitely coming to it!”
So, we’ve decided that we’ll have another
Ventriloquist Central
Birthday Bash for 2013 in Malden, MA (Boston area). And we’ve been hard at work, securing the
Hyatt Hotel (getting the best deal possible) once again for this
event, plus getting performers for the Saturday night show and
workshop/lectures to speak in the after noon.
The previous Birthday Bash was a blast….in fact here’s what some had
to say about it:
"I had the greatest time this weekend at the
birthday bash! I always have a good time at the Vent Haven
Convention, but this was better. What a great great time. Dan-

One of the main points most seem to say was how they liked the small
intimate group. It made it more fun. That’s the one thing we heard
over and over and over again.
At the last Ventriloquist Central Birthday Bash we started the day
by gathering at the hotel and spending a few minutes socializing
with everyone. Then we broke up in groups to go over and see the
famed Ventriloquist Central Collection.
We had lunch, then in the afternoon there were workshops and
lectures. After that there was dinner and the BIG Show that featured
Bob Abdou, Ed Thomas and Mike Robinson.
A GREAT time was had by all. In fact, check out some of last year’s
fun…..
This time around the schedule will be pretty much like the last time
with even more surprises and fun.
We are still ironing out some of the details but so far for the
afternoon workshops/lectures we have scheduled, Bob Abdou, Mike
Robinson and our very own Steve Hurst. We are still talking with a
couple of people who are trying to clear their calendars.
Our BIG Show entertainment will be spectacular this year as well.
First up we have Al Getler.
Al is no stranger to the vent
community. Al has performed at theaters, casinos, comedy clubs and
colleges across the USA. He has been seen on TV and also been the
featured speaker/performer at many of the country's FORTUNE 500
companies, meetings and business celebrations. He was the Director
at Vent Haven Museum in 1989.
Next on our list is Dave Deneen, aka Mr. Dead Guy.
Since we’re holding this event in
October, the Halloween month, who better to have perform than Mr.
Dead Guy.
Last and certainly not least is our very own Ray Guyll.
Some of the “newbies” to the vent
community may only know Ray as a master ventriloquist figure
builder. However, Ray has been a performing ventriloquist for many
years performing in all types of venues. He even performed on cruise
ships, which is the routine he’s reviving for the Birthday Bash.
So as you can see it’s guaranteed to be a fun time!!!

As an added extra this year, we are offering an optional group
lunch……where everyone (if you want to join us) will get together
have lunch at a great little Italian place. They will provide us
with a nice room where we’ll be to ourselves along with a buffet
style lunch offering a choice of three different entrees, a salad
and dessert. It will be fun to have everyone in the same room
enjoying each others company. (We will provide transportation from
the hotel)
SPECIAL NOTE!!!! We can only have
a LIMITED number of people who can attend and have had so many
people comment on how they should have gone to the previous Birthday
Bash (once they heard how much fun everyone had)….we expect to reach
our limit pretty quick, so don’t hesitate and don’t be left out.

Once we fill up, we will remove the payment option and take names to
put on a list in case someone cancels.
We were able to get a discounted rate at the Hyatt Place
Boston/Medford hotel once again. This
is a very nice hotel with great accommodations. The normal rate is
$219.00, but we’re able to get the rooms for $155 per night (1,2,3
or 4 occupancy).

Now last time, they sold out of the rooms and the last minute people
had to scramble to stay at other hotels (that are not very close to
this one). So if you plan on going, make your reservations NOW!!!
Why are you promoting this so early? Good question. As we stated
above, people that waited till the last minute to get a room
couldn’t at this hotel. The reason for this is at this time of year
(October) it’s a great time to be in Boston, MA. The temperature is
perfect and tourist flock from everywhere to be here and see the
changing of the fall colors.

So we had to start early to secure the hotel, lunch at the
restaurant, securing transportation to see the Ventriloquist Central
Collection and all the other particulars that go into setting up
this type of event.
And because we know the rooms fill up fast (even though we have
secured a block of rooms), you need to make your plans NOW!
