Tonight, Bob & Marty Hamill opened the show with their Potato Salad routine, then Ken Lucas came to the stage. Ken had a great set that featured a song by his puppet “If I Had A Better Vent” to the tune of “If I Only Had A Brain” from Wizard of Oz. Very funny show that was well received. A panel discussion by Female Puppet Makers moderated by Tim Cowles featured Mary Ann & Melissa Taylor, Michele Acquin & Kristen L. was also on tonight. Dealer rooms open at 9:45 - so I’ve got to go look!

At about 5:15pm (eastern time), George Boosey called in to say that the ConVENTion is underway. He said there are a couple of video crews there doing filming. I asked about the turnout and he said it looks a little smaller than normal, but wasn’t sure.

Tonight’s festivities include, the Pro’s group discussion, official opening by Mark Wade, a Lady Figure builder’s discussion and a one man show with Ken Lucas.

Terry Fator is scheduled to perform tomorrow night and on Saturday is Jeff Dunham.

“Spent Tuesday night at Ken Groves’ - Ken Lucas, who will perform at the convention is also staying here - we got a sneak peek at a multi-media trivia presentation Ken Groves created, and Lucas performed a new bit he will be doing on the show. (It will kill!) They also watched parts of one of my fair shows taped last week and offered some great tips. We are heading down to KY this morning and things start this afternoon.”
