Dumbstruck the Movie

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

I was present at the Vent Haven ConVENTion when the crew from the film Dumbstruck was there and filming. Although they seemed to be everywhere it was not easy to find out what they were doing so to finally know that the movie has been premiered and is getting very good reviews is great. I hope we all are able to see it in the not too long future.

Check this out concerning this achievement in film.

Jeff Dunham Got Me Out of a Speeding Ticket!

Friday, December 11th, 2009

This was sent to me by Chuck Field and I thought I would share it with everyone:

Hi Dan,
The first weekend of December had me performing in Milwaukee, Chicago and finally Indianapolis.
At about 10pm with 10 minutes left traveling on I-465 going 60 on a 55 speed limit, I was pulled over by a State Trooper.
When I opened the window, the policeman asked me for my license, proof of insurance and registration.
I asked why I was pulled over and he told me I was going 70mph. After I told him, that I was aware that I was over 55 but knew
I was going 60, he was a little annoyed and asked, “What brings you to Indianapolis sir”.
I answered…I am a Ventriloquist and have performances on Sunday.
With that, a big smile came over his face and said, “TRYING TO MAKE IT BIG LIKE JEFF DUNHAM EH”?
I answered, “Its a little to late for that” but I started doing this since age 10 and am still pretty busy.”
I also said, “SILENCE” and he laughed and handed me back my license and said,
“Don’t go over 55 and have some great shows tomorrow”.
THANK YOU JEFF!

Early Jeff Dunham Photos

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

With all the news lately about ventriloquist Jeff Dunham, a regular contributor to Ventriloquist Central, Bill Smith, sent in this email and pictures of Jeff:

“These are 4 of MANY photos I took at the testimonial luncheon given in honor of Senor Wences, at the Ramada Inn, Rochelle Park, N.J., Sunday, April 4th, 1989. This was while Jeff was still doing colleges & comedy clubs. He had not done his first Tonight Show appearance yet! I had him autograph these 8×10’s at the 1990 conVENTion. Mr. Wences was battling health problems, so unfortunatley could not perform at his testimonial, but the others to “trod the boards” that GLORIOUS day, were: Alan Semok,Tom Basso, Judy Buch, Dan Ritchard, Robert Ladd, Stanley Burns, Jeff Dunham, & Juggler Jay Green. Also on hand were strolling clowns “Sparky” & “Cuddles”. The eVENT was organized by Al Getler. {THANKS AL!!}. Feel free to post these as well as any or all of this letter about it.”

Best, Bill

The Jeff Dunham Show

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

thejeffdunhamshow

What can I say….the man is selling out stadiums now so a TV show is of course the next thing. I take my hat off to him for trying this. I found the premise of the show very different trying to get us to believe the characters have a life of their own outside of performing with Jeff.

Good job Jeff!!!
