How to Make a Ventriloquist Figure Collection |
When it comes to collecting you must remember to set limits to where you want your collection to go. This is why I decided that for the most part I wanted just wood carved figures. You see there is such an array of different styles and types of materials that were used to make figures that I had to choose for myself what direction I wanted to go. |

Is Your Ventriloquist Figure Protected? |
I was talking with a ventriloquist friend of mine the other day when the subject of “How does one protect the value of their ventriloquist figure?” |
Ventriloquism, For Fun and Profit |
My partner Steve has his own website (as if he doesn’t do enough work as it is…..LOL)….and posted this to his blog. I thought he should share it with the Ventriloquist Central faithful too…. |
Fitting Sleeves For Ventriloquist Figures |
Not every ventriloquist figure’s body
is made the same so even when you get a figure that is supposed to
be 3T or 4T you may find that the sleeve length on the suit coat or
sports jacket may not be the correct length. |

Frank Marshall Figures in Ventriloquist Central Collection |
I am constantly asked how many EXACTLY is the number of Frank Marshall figures that are currently in the Ventriloquist Central Collection. I really had not counted in a long time because the number really didn’t matter to me but since I was being asked this so many times today I decided to do the actual count. |
Of course we had many
other blogs last month, so be sure to check them
all out, just in case you might have missed one.

Frank Marshall made ventriloquist figures in all sizes. This one I am showing you is a rather small figure that stands only 28" tall. He is a terrific figure with a wonderful face. He is very unusual because he has cast hands and cast feet instead of wood. They have always been on the original Marshall body. The original muslin on the arms and legs matches the muslin covering the body.

I am a big fan of the late Brian
Hamilton and have quite a few of his figures in the Ventriloquist
Central Collection and I love the fact that he is a direct
descendant of the McElroy Brothers. They did teach him some of their
methods.

Ventriloquist Central Video Collecting Series – Frank Marshall’s
Bernie Birchwood FigureThis is Frank Marshall’s Bernie Birchwood ventriloquist figure. He is a most unusual figure and was created late in Frank Marshall’s career although he has one thing that is a throw back to his earlier creations. He has the leather under his chin but it does not attach as the leather did back in the 30′s and forties.
