Howie Olson's Skinny Dugan Ventriloquist Figure

I am so pleased to let everyone know that Clinton Detweiler decided that the Skinny Dugan figure, which was crafted by Howie Olson, and was part of his collection is now a member of the Ventriloquist Central Collection. Clinton and Mr Olson were to sell these figures but according to Clinton's blog not many were sold and Clinton liked this as a display and never sold it. (click here to see Clinton's blog)

I am very surprised as to the close likeness that Howie came to the original Skinny. Madeline Maher sold a figure she said was a Skinny Dugan and it was not even close. I am sure if she had seen this rendition she would have loved it.

Now it is still a Howie Olson figure so it is on the cruder side. I believe the head was cast in Permatone. And he has some great functions. Side to side self centering eyes. raising eyebrows ( done like Frank Marshall did them and not windshield wiper), winkers, blinkers and of course slot jaw. The levers are all wood levers in the paddle style, Skinny is still dressed in his original 1970's clothing.

I am very happy this RARE figure is now part of the Ventriloquist Central Collection
