When Tony Davis visited me to see the
Ventriloquist Central Collection he was most impressed with Charlie
and Mortimer that were carved by Bob Isaacson but he also told me
that he loved the Effanbee Charlie McCarthy dolls (as do I) so he
wanted a WC Fields figure to go with his Charlie. Well Tony decided
that his copy of WC Fields would be better sitting amongst the
Charlie's here at Ventriloquist Central. Tony sent me pictures and I
of course said I would love to have him.
I am pleased to share this wonderful little fellow with you all.
Tony spent the time to really capture WC Fields as Effanbee had
depicted him and carved him out of bass wood. He has mouth movement
only and stands 26 inches tall and is ball and socket. His body is
wood framed covered in cardboard and the hands are from a Juro toy.
I was overwhelmed at how nice a job Tony did on this figure. There
is always surprises in the field of ventriloquism. I just want to
thank Tony for adding this great piece of work to the Ventriloquist
Central Collection.
