A Rare German Ventriloquist Toy Figure

I do not collect toys but when something rare in a toy ventriloquist figure comes along I usually will say yes to a purchase and such is the case with this little fellow.

He stands 25" tall and is in his original costuming. He is marked on the back of his neck made in Germany but no makers name. His head is made of composition and his jaw is leather like the English figures made by Len Insull. His mouth opens by was of a pull string out of his back.

His body is a wood frame then covered with muslin. His arms and legs are stuffed muslin. The hands are stitched to look like hands and his feet are shaped muslin with tiny leather shoes.

His paint is 95% original. He had a slight chip out of the back of his head. I filled it and painted it to match and there was some paint loss on his left cheek which I also touched up. I think he looks great.

This figure is from the 1940's I believe but because I have been unable to find any information on him I can't be 100 percent certain.

If you happen to know anything about this unique vent toy please let me know!!
